Abstract N-heterocyclic carbene has high reaction performance,so it can react with almost all metal in periodic table of elements producing stable complexes.This paper introduces the structure and type of N-heterocyclic carbene,synthetic methods of N-heterocyclic carbene metal complexes and their catalysis in chemical reaction,and the application prospect of N-heterocyclic carbene metal complexes.
