Abstract On the English for science and technology (EST) teaching in chemistry major, a few suggestions were proposed, including making clear of the characteristics of EST for students, combining classroom teaching with research and production instances, using flexible teaching methods, and reinforcing learning through better homework. Through the improvement of classroom teaching, homework layout and other aspects, we hope the EST level of high-grade students in chemistry and related majors can be significantly improved in one or two semesters.
