Abstract Based on the problems of teachers, students and teaching materials, a new bilingual teaching mode of basic chemistry is proposed, which emphasizes firm foundation and foreign teachers, combined with the chemistry and English level of students. An investigation was made in order to find the problems of bilingual teaching. Some practical suggestions were given, and the orientation and teaching methods were discussed.
