Abstract This paper introduced the reform and innovation of chemical engineering experiment course from three aspects including teaching module and experimental level, content of course, and teaching method and assessment. Experiments were divided into four levels such as demonstration type experiment, verification type experiment, comprehensive experiment, and research and development type experiment to inspire students' initiative in study, which could cultivate students' experimental skills and innovative consciousness, enhance their innovative ability.
