Abstract In basic chemistry course for freshman major in clinical medicine of Changsha Medical University, this article proposed four-questions-based teaching method for blood buffer system. Results showed that students became more active to answer and discuss questions in classroom; the learning effect could be improved and laid a firm foundation for the study of disturbance of acid-alkaline balance in subsequent medical course.
