Abstract This paper introduced American chemistry week in 2014 "the Sweet Side of Chemistry:Candy", focused on the experiment activities, and briefly introduced the sections of scientific reading and the chemists in the future. Some enlightenments on chemistry teaching in China were got:(1)pay attention to the development of food science; (2)focus on the integration of scientific reading; (3)reflect the diversity of experiment design; (4)pay attention to the combination of informal learning and formal learning; (5)reflect the idea of "chemistry serves life".
