Abstract Sodium-ion batteries are considered as one of the most promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries due to their high energy density and abundant sodium resources. The alloy-typed material antimony has recently attracted significant attention as an anode material for sodium-ion batteries because of its high theoretical capacity and appropriate redox potential. This paper mainly introduces the research status of antimony-based sodium ion battery anode materials such as antimony, antimony/carbon composites, antimony alloys, antimony oxides, antimony sulfides and other compounds of antimony.
