Abstract Inorganic chemistry is one of the important courses for the university freshmen to learn advanced chemistry knowledge and to build scientific attitude. In the teaching process of inorganic chemistry, we practiced to penetrate the scientific spirit to the students in experimental class. Following the history of battery materials, the case learning method was adopted to lead students to think and learn, while the pioneering, exploring and innovating behavior of scientific spirit was penetrated to them at the same time. This progress would have positive influence on the students' scientific thought and scientific behavior. Moreover, the students' interests for exploring truth and pursuing science were also inspired.
