Abstract In this paper, the discipline characteristics and problems in physical chemistry teaching have been analyzed. The necessity of integrating STSE concept into physical chemistry teaching has been declared. In addition, the corresponding strategies have been proposed in order to promote the charm of physical chemistry, stimulate interests and develop scientific literacy of college students. Actually, the teaching practices have been proceeding with satisfactory effects.
