Abstract Based on the reaction principle of copper sulfate and ammonia, this paper proposed an improvement of preparing experiment of the basic copper carbonate taking copper sulfate (CuSO4) and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) as the reactance as following, adding few drops of ammonia into the CuSO4 solution and heating. On the basis of improvement, this paper also discussed the effect of molar ratio CuSO4 to Na2CO3 by TG graphs and XRD. The results showed the green samples has been seen soon when molar ratio CuSO4 to Na2CO3 was 1.0~1.6.The samples was Cu2(OH)2CO3. After the improvement, the experiment appeared to be less time consuming, easy to operate, the color change was obvious and the experimental success rate became high.
