Abstract Traditional oxygen absorption corrosion experiment of iron consumed long time, the phenomena were not obvious, and the effect of classroom demonstration was poor. This study used U-type tube and sensitive ammeter device to improve oxygen absorption corrosion experiment of iron, which presented completely the macroscopic phenomena, microscopic essence and symbolic representation of experiment combining with principle analysis, and enriched students' knowledge of this part. The results showed that experiment teaching based on the triple representation could improve students' achievement scores.
