Abstract This paper reported our innovative design on the experiment of chromium(Ⅱ) acetate hydrate preparation through extensive exploration and practice. This new design was that the Cr(Ⅱ) solution was poured into sodium acetate solution in a hydrogen atmosphere.Compared with the traditional preparation method, the new design is simple and easy to operate, and the purity and yield of the product is high, which is a more suitable way for students' experiment.
