Abstract This paper analyzed relevant requirements on "aluminum and aluminum alloys" teaching in junior and senior high school chemistry. Taking "the reaction of aluminum and oxygen" and "thermit reaction" as examples, this paper emphasized that the linking teaching of element compound in senior high school should first understand the students' existing background knowledge, and then provide factual experiences for the teaching of principles and structures, deepened students' understanding of elemental compounds in optional course.
