Abstract This paper introduced students' experiment inquiry of preparation of electrolysis chip of water based on STEM concept, and students could observe the volume ratio of H2 and O2 (2:1) in the lab-on-a-chip. This experiment was simple, safe and environment-friendly, and was suitable for students' independent operation. This study stimulated students' learning interests, and developed the innovation ability of students by setting scientific questions, emphasizing students inquiry and making students experience the whole process of scientific research.
