Abstract Chemistry is a subject based on experiment, chemical experiment teaching is an important part of chemistry teaching. According to the time context, the chemical experiment teaching of middle school in our country was divided into four main stages. The fourth stage was based on the international, catch up period,with the new curriculum reform, training concept and training mode to the international line, middle school chemical experiment teaching had been greater development. With the development of students' "scientific literacy" as the core of the concept of training and around the "three-dimensional goal" curriculum system to promote the teachers' teaching methods and student learning methods had undergone tremendous changed. The development of information technology also made chemical experiments teaching class more colorful. The establishment of the theory of chemical experiment teaching had played an important role in further guiding teaching practice. At present and in the future, we should strengthen our understanding of the importance of chemical experiment teaching and the function of chemical experiment teaching.
