Abstract This paper investigated the training needs of senior high school chemistry teachers in Sichuan province of China by questionnaires. The results showed that,some training needs were highly common,such as curriculum standards,micro lesson preparation and teaching research methods; and some needs were obvious different,such as teaching behaviors,teaching design and assessment ways. So,this paper suggested that these common and distinctive needs should be fully considered when choosing the training contents,forms,time and frequency,which could improve the pertinence and effectiveness of training.
