Abstract Used hand-held technology, this paper measured the surface temperature in different positions of asbestos wire gauze in heating instantaneously and accurately. Independent sample t test was employed to compare the temperature and the difference in temperature between the two types of characteristic points on surface of the asbestos wire gauze. The relationship between the surface temperature and its influence factors was explored with regression analysis. The results showed that:there was a highly significant difference on temperature between the two types of characteristic points under the same conditions, and there was no significant difference on difference in temperature per unit distance between the two types of characteristic points under the same conditions; the relationship among the surface temperature, time and position during rising temperature process might be fitted as a linear equation with two unknowns, and the relationship between the surface temperature and position in constant temperature period might be fitted as univariate cubic equation; the surface temperature decreased slightly from the center to the edge, evenly distributing, the maximum temperature difference was less than the temperature change that glass device could withstand. The results could provide a quantitative reference for utilizing asbestos wire gauze effectively and rationally, and compiling chemistry experiment teaching material in chemistry education practice.
