Abstract The application of problem-based teaching strategy in physical chemistry is introduced based on the teaching course of electrode potential and electromotive forces. The setting of teaching objectives, preparing discussion questions and the way to lead discussion is introduced. Using this strategy, students can reach conclusion through comparison and analysis of physical chemistry experiments and theories leant in physical chemistry course, which enhances the understanding and application ability of the students.
