Abstract The reform of evaluation method in college chemistry was carried out. A process-oriented assessment was applied in the course. The percent of final exam score was decreased in the total score. More homework was required to enhance basic learning and help to improve ability to judge and solve practical problem. So that is required students to study actively and avoid cram session. The questionnaire survey showed that most of students can accept the evaluation method.
