Abstract Concentrated sulfuric acid usually used as catalyst in the experimental teaching of ethyl acetate preparation, but which has many shortcomings, such as unsafe, too much secondary reaction, serious corrosion, complicated final treatment and so on. In view of these shortcomings, the solid acid formed by concentrated sulfuric acid loaded on silica gel was designed as catalyst, and its application in experimental teaching of ethyl acetate was explored, including teaching content, organization form, evaluation methods, etc. The method has some advantages, for example simple operation, safety, high yield and recyclability of catalyst, which conforms to the concept of green chemistry, and fully embodies the supporting function of scientific research on teaching.
