Abstract This paper reviewed the papers related to the periodic table of chemical elements published in Journal of Chemical Education from 2009 to 2019, analyzed their characteristics in domain, audience, pedagogy, and then introduced representative teaching cases including model construction, learning by games, inquiry learning and cooperative learning etc.
