Study on “Subtext” in High School Chemistry Textbooks

Abstract Taking Chemistry 1 and Chemistry 2 as the objects of study, chemistry textbooks are divided into three categories:“subtext” in text, “subtext” in table, “subtext” in illustration. The roles and functions of “subtext” in textbooks, the types of “subtext” and the way of presenting knowledge are explained and analyzed in this paper.
