Abstract The corrosion inhibitor and anti-corrosion coating can form dense film on the surface of metal under some specific environments to achieve the purpose of protecting metal. Since such chemical corrosion inhibitors and coatings have the advantages of low cost, strong operability, good corrosion inhibition effect, and long durability, they have become one of the most important anti-corrosion strategies in ocean engineering. This paper will introduce the structure of chemical corrosion inhibitor and anti-corrosion coatings in the applications of oil wells, wind turbine, aircraft carrier and submarine where are prone to corrosion, as well highlight its importance.
