Abstract The electrochemical teaching group at Beijing Normal University (BNU) actively and systemically analyzed the limitations of the previous curriculum system and teaching modes according to the course standards and requirements for innovative talents in the new era, and performed a series of course reforms (including course content, teaching mode, examination format and curriculum ideological and political education). As expected, we have achieved excellent teaching effectiveness and realized an intension-type development of electrochemistry course, thus promoting the cultivation of innovative talents at BNU. We hope this paper is helpful to summarize graduate course reforming experiences and to find out the common problems and teaching development laws, and finally to benefit the improvement in graduate course teaching quality as well as in cultivation level of innovative talents.
