Abstract This paper describes the comprehensive chemical experiments on the preparation and characterization of perovskite nanomaterials by microwave irradiation. The students will obtain the comprehensive training via this experiment, including literature searching and reading, understanding the basic principles and characteristics of microwave irradiation method. In addition, the optimization on the temperature, reactant ratio and other factors will also be examined on the formation of CsPbX3 nanocrystals by microwave-assisted method. In the experiment, the crystal structure will be discussed, and other characterizations by UV-visible spectrum, fluorescence spectrum and X-ray diffractometer will also be employed. Therefore, by the comprehensive experiments, the students will not only obtain the basic scientific training but also be encouraged by the experiment achievements. This experiment is suitable for the comprehensive chemistry experiment course for senior undergraduates.
