Abstract The chemical science thinking of understanding, thinking and solving problems like chemists was regarded as an important sign of forming the core literacy of chemistry discipline. Based on the thinking perspective of problem solving, the concept of chemical science thinking was defined, and then the connotation of chemical science thinking was clarified by illustrating the chemical science thinking mode connected with macro and micro, and the chemical science thinking method of evidence reasoning and model reasoning. On this basis, the psychological mechanism and cultivation path of chemical science thinking were put forward.
