Construction Journey,Issues and Prospects of Chemistry Pedagogy Textbooks in China

Abstract Synthesizing multiple factors such as epochal changes,teacher education reforms,and the discipline development of chemistry pedagogy,the construction journey of chemistry pedagogy textbooks has been divided into four periods since the beginning of school chemistry education in China’s modern era,namely,germination,nascent,transformation and deepening.Reflecting on the major issues found in chemistry pedagogy textbooks shows that these textbooks are still in a relatively immature stage.To promote the further advancement of chemistry pedagogy textbooks,it is imperative to highlight its discipline-specific feature,enhance its theoretical function,emphasize its experience-based construction and promote the collaborative development of similar textbook clusters.
