Abstract Promoting ideological and political education in the major courses is of great significance to realize the fundamental task of establishing moral in cultivation.Polymer major-related courses not only have a huge learning group,but also contain a wealth of ideological and political elements,which are not merely closely related to the construction of polymer knowledge system in this major,but also crucial for students to cultivate feelings in polymer industry.This paper starts with analyzing the advantages of polymer major in carrying out curriculum ideology and politics,and expounds some specific methods as well as pathways in combination with the characteristics of this major,such as enhancing the vision and ability of curriculum ideological and political,excavating the educational elements and enriching the material library,as well as carrying out diversified teaching modes.While helping student master professional knowledge,it also realizes the value leading goals such as patriotic feelings,courageous mission,craftsman spirit,and green development,thus providing inspirations for carrying out curriculum ideology and politics in chemical courses.
