Abstract Against the backdrop of the deepening reform of vocational education, this study takes Analytical Chemistry in higher vocational education as the carrier to explore the modular teaching integrating“positions, courses, competitions and certificates”.In line with the job requirements of food inspection and other positions, the course has been restructured into six major modules including error analysis, integrating professional certificate standards and competition projects. The PAD classroom and the dual-element mode of school and enterprise were adopted to carry out experiments in 3 classes(2 experimental groups and 1 control group). The data show that the theoretical average score of the experimental group was 85.6±3.2,the practical average score was 88.4±2.8,and the excellent and good rate of professional quality was 92.5%,all of which were significantly higher than those of the control group(72.3±4.1,75.6±3.5,67.5%,p<0.01).The acquisition rate of intermediate certificates for chemical inspectors in the experimental group was 98.7%,which was much higher than 70.0% in the control group.Research shows that this teaching mode can enhance students’ professional abilities and career competitiveness, and provide practical references for the reform of vocational education curriculum.
