Abstract At present, chemical experiment research in middle schools can be assorted into three types referring to three core journals on chemical education in middle school, such as theory research, summary of experience or application of theory,and design and improvement of experiment. It indicates that experiment design for new course is not enough, and methodological level is low though experiment design is allaround. Approach that resolves these problems is to strengthen the theoretical research of experiment design, to update the education ideas of teachers on front line and to upgrade the level of experiment design of teachers in middle schools.
