Comprehensive Instrumental Experiment of Synthesis and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles

Abstract A comprehensive instrumental experiment of the synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles was introduced. Silver nanoparticles was synthesized by chemical reduction and characterized using TEM and Uv-Vis techniques. The effect of volume ratio of reducing agent and silver nitrate on optical properties of silver nanoparticles and the relationship between concentration and absorbance of silver nanoparticles solution were examined. This experiment covers many basic experimental skills such as synthesis and instrumental characterization, with simple operating steps and direct characterization methods, so it is easy for students to learn.
