Abstract Instrumental analysis is a basic course for chemistry, pharmacy and food, which plays a very important role in cultivating talents for industry and society. Based on the function of newly-established colleges, it is meaningful to reform the teaching of instrumental analysis. In our college, strengthening the cooperation with the local enterprises in drawing up new teaching content, bringing the new teaching mode of flipped classroom, and focusing on the process of evaluation methods according to the assessment for company staffs were discussed preliminarily. It is expected to open a new way in training the practical talents.
