Abstract Under the guidance of CDIO engineering education mode, the teaching methods of analytical chemistry course and the level of practical talents were improved. Students' professional consciousness were aroused and their learning orientation were strengthened. By decomposing the knowledge of the course unit, establishing the basic knowledge and skills standard, designing the teaching link of training project and comprehensive application, and implementing effective evaluation mechanism, students' learning initiative and team work spirit were improved. Meanwhile, teachers' ability was also promoted. The teaching reform can meet the need of professional course construction and improve teaching efficiency and quality.
