Keeping up with the subject development, novel analytical methods and research results developed in recent years are incorporated into classic instrumental analysis courses as supplementary teaching materials. Novel analytical methods such as colorimetric assay based on gold nanoparticle, fluorescent analysis based on quantum dot, sample pre-treatment methods based on molecularly imprinted polymer are introduced in teaching, beneficial to expanding the students' knowledge, improving the students' interest, increasing students' confidence and improving the teaching effectiveness.

Chemistry didactics is a compulsory specialty course with pedagogic characteristics and related with chemistry teaching in basic education. However, it is neglected by students in normal university. So,classroom teaching reform for chemistry didactics in Inner Mongolia Normal University is practiced from three ways respectively,which are teaching contents, teaching modes and teaching evaluation. Some effective functions are obtained, which facilitate the positivity and participation of students in classroom, and improve the teaching skills of students.

A series of Hantzsch esters 1,4-dihydropyridines with bioactive and biomedical property were synthesized by one-pot method in water using aromatic aldehyde, ethyl (methyl) acetoacetate and ammonium carbonate as starting materials and polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400) as phase transfer catalyst. The effects of different factors were investigated such as ratio of raw materials, reaction temperature, solvent and ratio of phase transfer catalyst. Reaction time was confirmed using thin layer chromatography (TLC), ammonium salts were also studied and the optimum experiment conditions were decided. The method has the advantages of good yields, less pollution and friendly environment. The structures of final products were characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR.

Currently,indicating the end of sodium nitrite method mostly use dead stop titration and external indicator method, the two methods have some defects in the actual operation process. During teaching practice, the end indication method is improved by combining internal indicator with external indicator. Improved method can make the relative average deviation smaller,and experiment operation more simple and faster, so the experiment becomes more economic and practical.

The experiment of preparing di-n-butyl ether has been improved: the amount of sulfuric acid is cut down suitably, the way of adding n-butyl alcohol is changed, the temperature of reaction end is risen,and the yield of di-n-butyl ether is increased. Moreover,effect of removing n-butyl alcohol from the crude product by saturated calcium chloride solution washing is poor,and better effect is obtained by 50% sulfuric acid washing.

Under the guidance of CDIO engineering education mode, the teaching methods of analytical chemistry course and the level of practical talents were improved. Students' professional consciousness were aroused and their learning orientation were strengthened. By decomposing the knowledge of the course unit, establishing the basic knowledge and skills standard, designing the teaching link of training project and comprehensive application, and implementing effective evaluation mechanism, students' learning initiative and team work spirit were improved. Meanwhile, teachers' ability was also promoted. The teaching reform can meet the need of professional course construction and improve teaching efficiency and quality.
