Abstract Based on the theory of pedagogical content knowing(PCKg), a five-month-long study of a pre-service teacher major in master of chemistry education was carried out. Through observation of teaching, related files, interviews of tutor and questionnaires, this article analyzed the construction and development of PCKg of the pre-service teacher in teaching practice, discussed the impacts of high school teaching-sites and teacher-training departments on the pre-service teachers' PCKg development, constructed a teaching practice mode of collaboration of high school and teacher-training college. The results could provide suggestions for the work of training pre-service chemistry teachers in the near future.
