Abstract The investigation showed that many pre-service chemistry teachers lack understanding of humanistic spirit such as the humanistic spirit argues against attributing the human being to nature of life, humanistic education cannot give living skills basically and do not directly link to the need of social and economic developments, science needs art and art also needs science, society and lives influence the construction of students' humanistic quality and chemical history contains rich humanistic education resources. Training schools should improve the humanistic education of pre-service chemistry teachers.
