Abstract The "five-in-one" MBD (model-based discovery) teaching mode is developed for inquiry learning based on information processing theory and cognitive theory, which combined the basic theory of pedagogy and "four-in-one" model of informatics to further improve the proceduralness and scientificness of inquiry teaching. The comprehensive evaluation of "five-in-one" MBD teaching mode is an important indicator of the mode to develop subjective initiative of behavior subject in the actual teaching. However, due to a variety of factors, it is difficult to carry out quantitative assessment. Therefore, this article established a fuzzy evaluation model based on fuzzy mathematics and converted qualitative evaluation indexes to limited quantitative evaluation indexes to examine the timeliness and functionality of "five-in-one" MBD teaching mode in the actual teaching.
