Applications of Aspen Plus in Distillation Separation Teaching of Physical Chemistry

Abstract This paper discussed the application of Aspen Plus software in distillation separation teaching by the utilization of Aspen Plus chemical process simulation software and combination with the case of distillation separation of DMEMethanolWater ternary system. The practice indicated that the teaching methodology with the assisted process simulation software not only made students get a better understanding of theoretical knowledge, which improved the teaching quality, but also cultivated the students' ability of solving practical engineering problems by using the simulation technology, which enhanced students' comprehensive qualities.
