Abstract Based on the GRAPA evaluation method and the characteristics of design experiments, we set up teaching standards of design experiment in chemistry didactics, built evaluation scales for teachers and students, and carried out the practice research. The research results showed that the GRAPA evaluation method had both functions of formative and summative assessment, which could promote the communications and interactions between teachers and students, improve the students' learning interest, experimental innovation consciousness and self-monitoring ability.
