Abstract This paper explored the application of PBL-TBL-CBL teaching method in medical basic chemistry course. The teaching experiment was conducted in the LBL group and the PBL-TBL-CBL group, and then evaluated by scores, teacher evaluation and student questionnaire. Compared with traditional teaching, TBL-CBL-PBL teaching method was obviously superior to raise students' interests, improve the ability of self-learning and team cooperation, improve the ability of experiment operation, accurately grasp the points of knowledge, and improve students' confidence in learning chemistry. Combined with the traditional LBL teaching method, PBL-TBL-CBL teaching method can be applied in partial chapters in medical basic chemistry course to meet the syllabus requirements.
