Chinese Chemistry Nomenclature System (CCNS) plays a very important role in science and technology in China. The high systematization and wide population result in CCNS an independent system along with the International Chemistry Nomenclature System (ICNS). Basically, CCNS and ICNS cannot be directly translated to each other without dictionary although they share some etymological root and CCNS adopts some transliteration from the words in ICNS. This situation arouses some problems in international science communication, in understanding exactly the scientific conceptions and in wide spreading of science and technology. Therefore, in Chinese universities, ICNS must be adopted in all chemistry teaching and research. CCNS remains using in high school teaching, the fields of chemistry application and society.

In accordance with the goal of the general education and on the basis of the scientific research achievements and publications, the history, nature, and perspectives of the quantum world were discussed to clarify the connection between the classical and quantum worlds. The significance of the present general education course for undergraduate students to improve the creative thinking with quantum mechanics was discussed.

This paper proposed a new method for the derivation of acid-base titration error formula. Using split idea could speedily derive the error formula of acid-base titration and the complicated processes involving material balance equation (MBE) and charge balance equation (CBE) in current textbooks were avoided. Due to its simpleness and accessibility, this method is easy to understand and master for students.

It was found in our daily teaching that most of the students regard the hydrogen bond between base pairs as the main reason for the double helix structure of DNA. Therefor, this paper designed a heuristic teaching process to clarify the major intermolecular interactions that promote the formation of perfect double helix structure of DNA. The course was performed by foreshadowing, problem-based discussion and expansion. During this learning process, students could not only deepen their understanding on some basic principles of chemistry, but also improved their abilities of analyzing and resolving problems.

This paper proposed a set of integral, explorative and comprehensive experiments of polymer chemistry through combining the polymer chemistry experiments, scientific research activities of undergraduates, achievements in scientific research and characterization techniques of functional polymers tightly, and described these innovations taking the experiment of controllable synthesis of α, ω-carboxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane as an example. During the implementation of the explorative experiments, the students were guided to carry out literature search, synthesis routine design and evaluation, polymer synthesis and characterization, and laboratory report. Results showed that the students' abilities in literature consulting, documents analyzing and innovative thinking could be markedly promoted.

This paper analyzed the reasons for the large difference between experimental data and expected data, and the reasons for the poor reproducibility of experimental data of measurement experiment of thermodynamics function variation in chemical reaction by electrochemistry method. Based on teaching practice, the authors measured the electromotive force of zinc-copper battery at different temperature through measuring device with thermostatic control system of circulating water, and calculated the variation of thermodynamics functions in the chemical reaction. The improved experiment could improve the effectiveness of experiment teaching and promote the development of students' design ability and innovative ability.

This paper introduced the application of photocatalysis and advanced measurement and testing technology in physical chemistry experiment teaching with example of preparation and photocatalytic performance test of Sb-doped Bi2O3 nanomaterials. Sb-doped Bi2O3 nanomaterials were fabricated via a solvothermal method. The component and morphology of the samples were characterized with X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The visible-light-induced photocatalytic activities of undoped and Sb-doped Bi2O3 nanomaterials were evaluated by the photodegradation of Rhodamine B. The mechanism for enhanced photocatalytic performance of Sb-doped Bi2O3 was analyzed by the optical and photoelectronic properties. By means of this experiment, students would get advanced knowledge in chemistry, learn about the fundamentals of photocatalysis reaction and advanced testing technology, master novel experimental techniques, and get a better grasp of the basic knowledge of physical chemistry. Moreover, the comprehensive experiment would be significant for improving experimental ability of the students and cultivating innovative and interdisciplinary talents.

This modularized system made the function of laboratory change from teaching to scientific research and innovation, and transformed experiment teaching from knowledge imparting to comprehensive quality training of knowledge, ability and thinking. So, this experiment teaching system would be helpful to promote students' enthusiasm and creativity.

Based on the implementation of "The Outstanding Teacher Training Plan", this paper analyzed the present situation of chemistry teacher education from complying with the shift of science education paradigm and promoting chemistry teachers' professional development, and raised the question of curriculum system construction for pre-service teacher education aiming at training outstanding chemistry teacher. Then this study discussed the cultivation of chemistry teachers' chemical science literacy and practical ability in chemical education; pointed out that the focus of cultivation system should transform from fragmented knowledge to the all-round development of educators; introduced the curriculum optimization from the aspects of chemical knowledge system, philosophy of science and technology, chemistry teacher education practices to promote the pre-service outstanding chemistry teachers' understanding of chemistry, chemical education and chemical education research.

This paper explored the application of PBL-TBL-CBL teaching method in medical basic chemistry course. The teaching experiment was conducted in the LBL group and the PBL-TBL-CBL group, and then evaluated by scores, teacher evaluation and student questionnaire. Compared with traditional teaching, TBL-CBL-PBL teaching method was obviously superior to raise students' interests, improve the ability of self-learning and team cooperation, improve the ability of experiment operation, accurately grasp the points of knowledge, and improve students' confidence in learning chemistry. Combined with the traditional LBL teaching method, PBL-TBL-CBL teaching method can be applied in partial chapters in medical basic chemistry course to meet the syllabus requirements.

Digital colorimetric analysis is a new analytical method emerged with the rapid development of digital products in recent years, which often needs values of three-primary colors (R, G and B) of the samples. However, R, G and B are often affected by the photographing environments such as object distance and type of lamp. Therefore, this paper developed a new method called RGB normalization to determine nitrite in aqueous samples via Griess reaction. The precision of RN, GN and BN (normalized R, G and B) is significantly better than that for untreated R, G and B. The process described in this paper can provide a new way for the field analysis of pollutants, and it can be chosen as one of experiments in the general elective experiment course for liberal arts students.

Based on the questionnaire survey, virtual laboratories such as atomic absorption spectroscopy virtual laboratory were constructed in the light of the problems in instrumental analysis teaching process. It was shown that the virtual laboratory and the actual laboratory could complement each other. The teaching reform of instrumental analysis involving theory teaching, experiment teaching and professional training, could not only realize the teacher-student interaction in learning, but also promote the cultivation of students' innovative and practical abilities.
