Abstract There were obvious differences on the solubility data of ferrous sulfate in water in experimental chemistry of high school chemistry textbooks between People's Education Press and Jiangsu Phoenix Education Publishing. The solubility of seven water ferrous sulfate in water was determined by experiment in order to prove the correctness of the solubility data quoted in the textbooks. The results showed that the solubility data didn't tally with the form of expression in two sets of chemistry textbooks. The solubility data of ferrous sulfate should be revised when the chemistry textbooks are reprinted.
