Abstract This paper reviewed the preparation methods of composite phase change energy storage materials and their research development, especially for the preparation methods of solid-liquid phase change energy storage materials, such as impregnating hybrid method, sol-gel method, electrostatic spinning method, vacuum infiltration method and ultrasonic method, etc. Moreover, this paper discussed their application in the field of solar energy, building energy conservation and the textile industry, and briefly mentioned the perspective for future development in this field.
