Abstract This paper introduced curriculum assessment requirements, compiling structures and knowledge points involved in the review guide book for British Salters advanced chemistry textbook Chemical Storylines (AS); based on this, three editorial characteristics were summarized: (1) the compilation of textbook was open; (2) it had cross connection with other relevant textbooks; (3) multi-types and multi-levels of its exercise. Finally, some enlightenments were obtained.
