Abstract This paper described the principle，classification and application of potentiometric titration in pharmaceutical and food analysis. Potentiometric titration is simple, rapid and precise, and plays an important role in quantitative analysis. Potentiometric titrators should be equipped in chemical education institutes to help students to understand and use advanced analytical techniques.
