Students got a better cognition of the HPLC method in food analysis. Meanwhile their comprehensive problem solving ability was also enhanced.
Introduction of Inquiry Experiment to Chemical Elective Course of Separation Technique
Experiments are extremely important in chemistry, whereas the experiment teaching in chemical elective courses is still ineffective. This paper described the introduction of inquiry experiments into the elective couse of separation technique, and illustrated the experiment design and the advantages taking the experiment of the preparation of Schiff base and the identification of fluoride ion by naked eyes as an example. The results showed that the attempt was in favor of improving the comprehensive quality and developing scientific interests of the students who have chosen the course. Moreover, some suggestions were listed based on the improvement of the attempt in future.
Blended Teaching Mode of College Chemistry Experiment Based on SPOC
In order to solve the problems of traditional teaching of college chemistry experiment, this paper tried to introduce the blended teaching mode based on SPOC. According to the properties of chemical experiment and combing with online and offline teaching, design of blended teaching mode of college chemistry experiment was discussed from three aspects including teaching resources, instructional design and instructional evaluation.
Research on Cultivating Scientific Talents Driven by Innovative Training Programs
This paper introduced the innovative training program of undergraduate students in Tarim University. A series of modified chitosan anion exchange membrane were prepared with chitosan (CS), 2,3-epoxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride and glutaraldehyde under microwave conditions, and properties of products were characterized by IR and TG. The implementation of the project allowed undergraduate students to make full use of what they have learned, and cultivate their competency of scientific research, and played a positive role in training innovative talents.
Preparation of Basic Copper Carbonate with Orthogonal Experiment and Determination of Its Composition
In this paper, three key factors to the yield of basic copper carbonate preparation including material radio, temperature and reaction time were studied. The composition of prepared basic copper carbonate was also researched in detail with infrared detection, orthogonal experiment and single factor experiment. The results indicated that in the reaction, material radio, temperature and reaction time acted as a key factor for the yield, reaction rate and products composition, separately. Taken together, the study further exhibited that with a volume ratio of 1:1.2 of copper sulfate and sodium carbonate at the same concentration, the best experimental result would gained when the primary product was kept for 24 hours under 75℃.
Performance Assessment of Pre-Service Chemistry Teachers' Experiment Teaching in Experiment for Chemistry Didactics
Teaching evaluation should be integrated with curriculum and teaching activities. Taking experiment for chemistry didactics as an example, the performance assessment form was made with evaluating a full process of "before class, during class and after class" after localization of performance assessment from abroad. According to the teaching mode of the same course in China, the form was used within the teaching process. A clear aim, concrete performing tasks, and explicit grading rules solved the problem of less teachers and more students, and met the requirement of high teaching quality and less lessons.
Effect of Model-Assisted Teaching on Cultivating Pre-Service Chemistry Teachers' Experimental Demonstration Skills
The students of grade 2012 and grade 2013 were selected as the experimental subjects, and the experimental group was treated with the model-assisted teaching, and the control group was conducted with the normal teaching. The result showed that the experimental group behaved better than the control group, which indicated that model-assisted teaching could improve preservice chemistry teachers' experimental demonstration skill significantly.

A Popular Science Experiment of Chemistry for Non-Chemistry Major Students: Determination of Trace Elements in Hair
Based on the reform of trimester in University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the public elective course of "The Popular Science Experiments of Chemistry in Life" was opened for the junior undergraduates who did not major in chemistry. The contents of the course were mainly related to the hot issues about life. "The determination of trace elements in hair" was one of the experimental projects, choosing students' hair as research object. And the contents and procedures of the experiment were also designed reasonably, which could stimulate students' interests in chemistry experiment, and further deepen the understanding of chemistry.
Teaching of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry Course Group Based on PBL: Example of New Drug Development
To improve the cultivating quality of undergraduate in the school of pharmacy, Ningxia medical university, a new organic and medicinal chemistry course group was carried out, and the problem-based learning (PBL) was applied to it. The discovery, design, synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of Conmana and the CFDA's approval process were integrated. PBL could help students to have a better understanding of pharmacy, arise the enthusiasm of students' desire for knowledge, enhance students' autonomous learning abilities, and train the cultivation of the team cooperation.

Teaching Practice of Computer-Aided Design in Chemical Reaction Engineering
Under the background of the transformation of higher education in China, the teaching practice of computer-aided design in reaction engineering provides an application example for the cultivation of applied talents. On the basis of the specific industrial cases in reaction engineering, a series of FORTRAN structured program for reaction kinetics and reactor design were prepared. Correspondingly, the syllabus and teaching plan were also adjusted. Then the course teaching in reaction engineering was carried out using computer-aided design, and typical simulation results were summarized. According to the classroom effects, an atmosphere of learner-centered teaching and learning forms, in which the theory and practice were combined together upon classroom teaching.
Investigation on the Hybrid Orbitals of SO3 Molecule
The structure of SO3 was optimized and compared by the ab initio methods of MP2, QCISD, CCSD and density function theory (DFT) method of B3LYP under the basis set of 6-311++G(3df,3pd), and the results showed the optimization geometry parameters were optimal through QCISD/6-311++G(3df,3pd) method. Based on this method, the hybrid orbitals, hybrid modes and delocalization π bonds of SO3 were analyzed through the natural bond orbital (NBO) theory. The results reveal that S adopts sp2 equivalent hybridization and each sp2 orbital is resided by one pair electrons and remaining an unfilled 3pz orbital. O atoms adopt sp3 nonequivalent hybridization. In fact, the σ bonds between S and O atoms are S→O coordination bonds. The coupling of three 2pz lone pair electrons in O atoms with empty 3pz orbital of S atom forms the π64 delocalization π bond in SO3 molecule. The Mayer bond order is 1.77 between S and O atoms, which further verifies the obvious double bond property of S=O bonds.
