Abstract In view of the characteristics of physical chemistry and the cognition of university students, we attempted to use the mind mapping method during the whole teaching procedures, including preview of the students, classroom teaching of the teacher, and summarizing after class. The new teaching method has been carried out many years, which is favorable to stimulate students' enthusiasm and develop students' innovative thinking and problem solving ability.
