Abstract Ethyl acetate is an important chemical raw materials. Ethyl acetate synthesis and hydrolysis reaction is a typical chemical production process. In 2014, our university introduced a set of ethyl acetate comprehensive training device, which is mainly used for practical training teaching of undergraduates in chemical engineering. This device includes two units, the synthesis and hydrolysis of ethyl acetate. Through the operation of the units, both practical ability and problem solving ability of students and teaching methods of teachers have been improved obviously. In the meantime, undergraduate practice teaching level have been promoted. Moreover, there are many problems during the experiment teaching, such as equipment pipeline corrosion, pump head corrosion and lack of buffer tank between units. The next step will be to reform these issues to achieve better training results.
