Development of Chemical Literacy of Vocational College Students in Human Settlement Course

Abstract Under the background of general lack of chemical literacy of the students in higher vocational colleges, the conjunction between human settlement and chemistry has been found. The teaching process was designed carefully as following:treating environmental problems from a chemical point of view and developing dialectical thinking; dealing with chemical related issues and problems in life effectively; cultivating students' sense of social responsibility; introducing new chemical achievements and feeling the charm of chemistry; practicing in activities of popularization of science and cultivating innovative thinking.
