Based on the present teaching situation of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, we introduced the PAD class into the teaching of analytical chemistry experiment. The duration of PAD class is equally divided into two parts. The first section is left to students for group discussion to review the contents of the last class, and the other half is given to teachers leading students to finish the experiment according to the preview report and the experimental procedure. Students shall absorb and internalize the experimental contents after class. Our practice showed that the participation of class discussions, the mastery of experimental skills and the accuracy of experimental data have been improved when compared with the traditional experimental teaching.

In order to introduce the frontier research field of phase change energy storage material to the undergraduates, a comprehensive chemistry experiment, preparation and characterization of phase change microcapsules containing tetradecanol, was recommended. The microcapsules containing tetradecanol were prepared by in-situ polymerization. The chemical structure, morphology and thermal storage performance of microcapsules were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry, respectively. Students can learn about the principle of condensation polymerization in polymer chemistry and in-situ polymerization of encapsulation by doing experiments. The testing and characterization of the products was helpful for students to clearly understand the function of infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. This comprehensive chemistry experiment can not only train the students' practical operations capability, but also develop their scientific innovative abilities.

This paper summarized the teaching experiences and exploration of the full English course "Principles of Catalysis Ⅱ" under the mode of virtual-parallel-class. By building the virtual-parallel-class, the individual differences of students in English levels could be effectively reduced. The introduction of micro-course videos further improved the teaching efficiency of the virtual-parallel-class mode. Results showed that the leading role of teachers in the instruction of graduate professional courses was indispensable. However, the depth and broadness of the teaching content could be enhanced by innovating the organization of classes. By combining the construction of virtual-parallel-class with the innovation of class organization and the evaluation method, a full English course targeted at cultivating the self-study ability of graduates was realized.

Determination of internal diffusion effectiveness factor is one of the important fundamental experiment courses for college students. Traditional preview methods in experiment courses mostly focus on theoretical study, with a lack of intuitive feeling and operating experience. Students always feel unfamiliar with experimental equipments and detailed procedures. To solve such a problem, an experiment preview system based on 3D virtual simulation technology was designed to improve the students' experimental preview effect. In this system, one penalty deduction scoring model was built, and the relevant data analysis and statistical functions were established, which was beneficial for enhancing students' understanding and improving the teaching quality.
